The Leverite Historical Society is proud to introduce Sophie Sixkiller as our new intern for the 2016-2017 academic year. Sophie comes to us all the way from Buffalo, New York where she is working toward her Masters of Science in Conservation and Historic Preservation. She originally started in wood working and furniture repair, until she found herself immersed in the preservation of artifacts of the Old West. Hopefully we can learn a few things from each other. The museum has a small but dedicated staff, and many of our displays of day-to-day life and ephemera require constant and delicate attention.
Ms. Sixkiller will be staying with the Song household until other accommodations can be made, seeing as what happened with the former intern bungalow being rendered uninhabitable by a certain cat.
